Peace of mind for you and your pet

Think about how much your pet enriches your life with its
sweet ways of showing you it cares, and all its funny
tricks. But pets are for life, and like a marriage in
sickness and in health, your pet could get sick and that
could be slightly less fun for your pocket.

We know that you would make sure your animal got the care it
needed, being a good pet parent. Even a nip in a game from
another dog could end up costing a fortune if it goes bad.

But it’s worth bearing in mind that insurance for dogs, cats
or other pets can be a valuable investment to ensure your
vets’ bills stay affordable. Plus just think on this, some
insurers also cover liability for dog bites - that could
come in useful!

The pet insurance industry is small in the USA, and Embrace
Pet Insurance, like all other US-based companies, permits
the owner to choose the clinic of their preference and some
even insure you abroad!

Flexibility, quality and affordability are key to the
Embrace Pet insurance policy. You aren’t pigeonholed into
Type 1, 2 or 3, you make those all-important choices about
the level of cover you want for your pet.

There’s a checklist that most insurance companies use when
devising their cover; featuring in-patient care, tests and
lab, medicine from your vet, surgery and so on.

However there is a whole range of things basic insurance
does not cover you for i.e. vaccinations, chronic and
genetic diseases ( and boy, these can be costly) and if you
are a fan of complementary therapies, you might as well
forget it with most of the policies available.

owners first, and tried to come up with a better quality
insurance product. The USA does not take up pet insurance
like other nations in the world, for example one in five of
the animal-loving Brits’ pets are covered; thanks to easy
claim procedures and few complaints. There is an entire

the client, suggesting the product and the client taking it
up because they know their pet will be covered.

Insured pets tend to visit the clinic more often as their
owners know they won’t get stung with a huge bill, so they
tend to deal with problems when they are minor rather than
leaving them to get bigger. The benefits of this do not need
to be spelt out.

Embrace is not a money for nothing organisation. One prime
example is the fact that they do not offer routine insurance
for all those regular check ups, annual shots, monthly
worming etc. Why, you might ask, since they are important
steps in your dog’s care program.

Of course these procedures are essential commitments to your
dog’s health. Embrace fully recommends every owner exercises
routine care but knows the raised premium required to cover
these things is probably higher than the cost of the
procedure, knowledge they have chosen to pass onto the
general public.

Of course there are a few things to bear in mind;
pre-existing conditions are unlikely to be covered unless
there has been a year of no evidence of the condition. Also
there is a waiting period before you can claim on your
insurance. This is to prevent people rushing to buy
insurance after their pet has gotten sick.

Pet insurance isn’t a crazy idea, after all you wouldn’t
leave your home sweet home without insurance would you?
Don’t be lulled into a false sense of security believing
nothing bad will befall you, after all, you’d hate to te the
person who couldn’t afford life saving treatment for the
animal who has always been true and loyal to you. Is the
choice now clear?
